Tips on How to Save Energy During Summer

The summer heat pushes us to have the air conditioning unit in our houses full blast almost 24/7. The scorching heat has become so unbearable, especially in the last couple of weeks. But the question is, how can we still save energy in extreme hot weather?

Here are some tips:
1. As much as possible use external shades so that the sunlight does not go directly to the house.
2. Keep your air conditioning unit maintained. It's condenser shaded.
3. Make sure windows are closed when the air conditioning unit is on.
4. Use a timer for your air conditioner. This actually cuts our consumption in half.
5. Make sure filters of air conditioners are regularly cleaned.

If you decide to follow these tips, you will actually realize that you do not have to pay more for the electricity bill than you have to.

Back in my younger days, during hot summers, I'd leave the house. Go to the coldest, spaciest mall I could get to, and just linger there all day long. Not buying anything or even window shopping, but just cooling off.
