One tip that I have found valuable as I go through several blogs and what their respective webmasters have to say about maintaining a website is get your own domain from the beginning. A noob can settle for a free hosted platform for starters. But there are pros and cons to maintaining a free hosted blog. Amongst the pros is enjoying a hosting that is free but then again, you would have to be at the mercy of your host. Cons would include having to do link building anew when you decide to get your own domain. Your links that were once with the free hosted would not count anymore in your statistics. You start from scratch.
With this said, it is best to check out a web hosting blog to learn more on getting your own domain and subscribing on a reliable host. You do not have to get into something that you are clueless about. The domain name that you choose has to be in line with the niche that you have in mind for your website. This will prove beneficial for you, even as you come up with articles to write.
