Toddler Tips: Help Develop Your Child's Gross Motor Skills

First what are gross motor skills? This are the movements of arms, legs and body. A toddler learns to get these muscles in his or her body coordinated to be able to balance. This is also a reason why a child shouldn't be confined in a playpen for long periods of time. Parents should encourage the toddlers to develop as she moves throughout a bigger space to further develop his or her gross motor skills.

A parent could actually schedule a time during the day wherein she could play with her tot. This may even prove to be a good fat burner exercise even as you follow your toddler around, playing catch and picking up balls. One very important thing to remember is to make the surrounding child friendly.
