How to Preserve Carpets

Do you know that to be able to preserve your carpets, you would need to have them turned around periodically? This allows the rugs to wear and soil evenly.

Take note that some chemicals in furniture polishes can destroy red carpet dyes that will eventually cause blue and green discoloration. This is why it is important to cover the carpet areas with newspaper when you are polishing furnitures.

Do brush the edges and seas of carpets with a liquid resin to keep the seams of your carpets from fraying. Liquid resin is readily available in fabric and crafts shops.

Take note that the outermost braid of a rug that is braided usually wears out first. You can save it from happening by sewing a stip of bias binding around the edges of the rug.

I've never heard about using liquid resin on a carpet. Thanks for the heads up.
