Marigolds: Decorative and Insect Repellant

Like any typical family, we might have gotten used to getting a hold of an insect repellant sprayer when the need arises. But do you know that there are actually plants that are known to be effective insect repellants?

If you have seen Marigolds, then you probably know the unpleasant smell that goes with the flower’s nice color. The same unpleasant smell also repels mosquitoes. Marigolds for this reason can actually be used double purpose. Place it alongside your porch to decorate as well as ward of annoying insects. The bright flowers are nice enough to serve as decorative plant.
