Kitchen Tip: Water to Thaw Meat

Thawing meat with the use of water is a very common practice. It is almost always the default. But the thing about thawing meat with water is that it lessens the meat's flavor. If you should at all thaw meat, do it via the microwave. Better yet, if you are using the meat for lunch, get it off the freezer and have it sit on the common fridge to thaw overnight.

Kitchen Tip: Choosing the Right Sink

When you come to think about it, kitchen sink is not exactly the first thing that comes in mind when you are constructing a house. But the truth is it is probably the one place that one has to spend most time in, granting that you have meals three times a day. A beautiful and functional sink is always a plus.

A lot of home designers have come up with such fab sinks, from the generic ones to the branded Franke sinks but the thing to consider when sink shopping is how it will complement the overall kitchen. You cannot just pick out a large sink when you have a tiny kitchen. Choosing the size and shape are the most challenging. After which, you choose the kind of design that you like.

The most important factor is your kitchen sink’s ability to accommodate the household’s kitchen activities.

Wipe spills the moment they happen

If only we could have our house as clean as it was turned over to us when it was brand new. One of the things that I personally have to put up with when it comes to household cleaning is keeping my black and white washroom spic and span. I love the contemporary design we chose for our bath and the main challenge is keeping the white floor tiles sparkling white.

Maintenance is the answer. Making sure to wipe spills as soon as possible, putting the job off will just allow the dirt and grime to seep in thus making it even harder for the mark to come off.

Kitchen Tip: Keep Molds off Sinks

Whoever does not fuss over molds that come uninvited on our sinks? This is one of the things that isn't just an eye sore but can also cause diseases. One thing I make sure I do every single day is spray the whole counter top and the Toto sinks with a solution of tea tree oil and water that I mixed in a spray bottle.
