Emergency Numbers

Do you have a list of emergency numbers posted somewhere visible? Have it close by, either near the main telephone, the fridge, some would have it placed ina designated whiteboard family message center. The key is accessibility.

There should also be a telephone book available to store contact numbers of relatives and friends. There should be a page available for medical numbers, even special groups, related contact numbers, if you have any. Accessibility is important, so one does not have to rummage for them when they are needed.

The Importance of Tips

Tips are useful ways of learning how a certain product or service can be of help to a person or group of people, as well as, tips can be some of the practical ways to share ideas or opinions about something that can be handy to people who might be interested. In line with this, articles or posts that contain helpful tips usually have more readers as compared to other articles.

Anyway, some important things to be considered when giving out tips, such as choosing the right trailer hitches, should be based on several factors such as the purpose and the type of trailer where they will be mounted, among others.

Handy Tips for Medical Facilities

The one thing that a patient very often notices and a lot of hospital and clinic administrators overlook is the fact that it matters how they look like. It starts at the reception, really. But heads on towards the consult, lab and what have yous. And the one thing that is prominent in such facilities is the scrubs for men. More often than not, you’d see wearing regular, dull colored ones. When there are scrubs stores offering just the exact opposite at cost that do not have to hurt.

This is just one of the few things that might just mean a lot to patients. For one, they are already there with some health issue. The least medical practitioners can give them are proper accommodation and maybe medical scrubs that are pleasing to the eyes.

A list for the holidays

Time flies so fast. Before we know it, we’re off to the last quarter of 2010. Before the last quarter of the year approaches, it would be nice to add to your list of goals - to come up with a list that I will send Christmas cards to during the holidays. Being too swamped with things and work should not be an excuse.

Tips on Managing Stress

How do you handle stress? Sure, stress can come from every single concern in our everyday life. But truth to tell, we have got to device a way on how we should cope properly to be able to live a better quality of life.

First things first. Before you even get on your toes and look for the best stress busters available, go sit down and make a list of stress factors. This will help eradicate the root cause of the problem and leans towards the preventive mode rather than cure. And when you think you have devised a lifestyle that will help you deal with them, you can go grab yourself something tangible that will remind you about it, a heart pendant necklace, for instance.

Anxiety and anxiety are only two of the major effects of stress and we should not wait until we are on the brink before we start looking for ways to cope.

Handy Tips for Beauty Products International Merchants

Most if not all of my regular readers know that I sell Thanakha products online via Kikay Corner Online Store.  Yesterday I shipped a facial cream to the United States and my client also ordered a few bars of Thanakha soap, which happened to have Glutathione as one of its ingredients.  Apparently,  United States has banned any shipment of products that contain whitening ingredients.  Glutathione as defined by Wikipedia:
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide. It contains an unusual peptide linkage between the amine group of cysteine and the carboxyl group of the glutamate side chain. Glutathione, an antioxidant, protects cells from toxins such as free radicals.[2]
Thiol groups are kept in a reduced state at a concentration of approximately ~5 mM in animal cells. In effect, glutathione reduces any disulfide bond formed within cytoplasmic proteins to cysteines by acting as an electron donor. In the process, glutathione is converted to its oxidized form glutathione disulfide (GSSG). Glutathione is found almost exclusively in its reduced form, since the enzyme that reverts it from its oxidized form, glutathione reductase, is constitutively active and inducible upon oxidative stress. In fact, the ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione within cells is often used scientifically as a measure of cellular toxicity.[3]
Glutathione, as celebrated antioxidant as it is, is banned from the United States.  I tried to have the girl who I transacted with (Fedex) to check with their head office and her supervisor said that it's negative.  Even if we try to have it shipped, the products will just be held in the customs department of the United States.  I guess since one of the side effects of Glutathione is it whitens the skin, they have generalized that everything that causes whitening is banned.

So if you happen to be selling beauty products that contain Glutathione, make sure to take note that it is okay with every other country except for the United States.

Keep a Zinc Oxide Cream Handy in Your Home

So you go ask, what on earth should I use a zinc oxide cream for? In case you have not heard yet, Zinc Oxide is the main ingredient of very effective diaper rash creams in the market. It is also used to treat minor skin burns or irritation. So whether you happen to have a tot at home or not, it always pay to keep a tub of cream of zinc oxide.

Sometimes, zinc oxide comes in ointment forms. But these usually are more expensive.  Zinc oxide keeps moisture and other irritants away from the skin and prevents the incidence of diaper rash in baby's tushy area.

Drawer Convenience on Closet Arrangements

Just when you thought arrangement of a man’s closet is way easier than a woman’s, think again. Sure, accessories might not include all those blings and sexy wigs, but a man’s closet can still be a challenge sometimes.

It will be extra convenient if a man’s closet has separate drawers to house his underwear, boxers and shorts. Another drawer should be dedicated for the socks. One side for the dress socks, another one for everyday ones. A third drawer should be for undershirts. Drawers can help to keep things in order.

How to Tell Raw Eggs Apart from Cooked Ones

It is fairly easy to know a cooked egg apart from the raw one. All you have to do is place the side on a flat surface and put it on its side. Gently spin the egg. You wouldn’t want to accidentally break a raw egg, if you happen to carelessly spin the wrong one. If the egg freely spins, then it is not raw. But if it stops spinning right away, then it is raw.

Manage Your Time, Manage Your Life

More and more people are confessing of their need to better manage their time. In this day and age that computers should supposedly make life easier for people, it seems like it even gives people lesser time to do things when it comes to juggling family responsibilities.

Here are some things you can take note of to better manage your time and make sure you are not drowning yourself too much in the computer, immersing yourself in endless online games. First is to write down a schedule to guide you. Try to keep it and do all the tasks on your list. Don’t delay. Plan most of the things you need to do when you are at the peak of your energy during the day. If you are a day person, then strategically place the things you need to do during day time and plan things out on night time, if you happen to be a night person.

Aside from the things you need to do, errands and all, make sure to include in your schedule a time to bond with friends and family. Set a regular date with them.  If you could at all involve your children with chores that would rather take you a while to do, then do it.  Delegate whenever you can.  Make life easier by helping yourself.  Live healthy by having a balanced life.

Roof Repair Tips

There can only be one culprit to the current rainy summer that we have – global warming. It really looks like it is suddenly the rainy season, when summer was barely here. Rainy days usually marks the time when your home would suddenly squeal for its much needed roof repair. We never know if your roof leaks until it rains and know that there is a need for repair.

Before you call the experts of Tulsa Roofing, you might want to have a look see of what needs to be repaired, for you to assess how bad the problem is. The first thing to do is go to the attic and watch out for watermarks. It is fairly easy to trace the problem to its source. You might even be surprised that you can easily do the repair yourself.

A roof repair should always be done at once. Delaying will just worsen the leak and will be giving you a larger roof problem. Take note that usually a roof that needs repairing is three feet from the watermark that you might have seen from the roof inspection. If there would be any cracks that might signal for a full roof replacement, make sure you have it replaced altogether than trying to save what is left off just to find out later that the damage has gone too much for anything to saved anymore and you end up spending more on repair than you have to.

What to Do When Mobile Accidentally Gets Wet

I would say that the one thing that worked for me on both my mobile and digital camera was treat it at once under a hair blower on high.  But here is another tip that can actually save the day.  You can do this to any electronic device that got wet.

Power off the device completely. Take off the battery and bury both the main item and the battery in a bowl of uncooked rice for a full 24 hours.  Rice is a natural dessicant and will help absorb excess moisture from the device.

Bathroom Storage

Now that my bathroom is built, it is too taxing to have a storage built on one of the side walls. One neat thing that one could consider with the same dilemma that I am in is making a new storage right below the lavatory. Installation of which will not cause much damage because unlike if it's in the wall, the tiles will get broken and it will be so much mess.

Installing a shelf is the easiest makeshift storage space anyone can do. This is where you could put cosmetics, toiletries and other grooming aides. The materials to use are just your basic plywood, have it painted with the same color of your bath's overall theme.

Cleaning Oriental or Persian Rugs

I remember how painstakingly it was to even attempt cleaning oriental and persian rugs. They are classy and elegant all right, but if you don't get the right people to have it maintained, all you will have later on is a smelly piece of household centerpiece. I tell you, the smell of an old unmaintained rug is not pretty. Leave the professionals to do the job. There is no other way to do it. You cannot scrub it clean yourself.

Keeping a Clear Entrance

Boots and overshoes should always have a place to be deposited in like a box by the entrance of the house. Don't forget to line the bottom with a trash bag.

Storage boxes should also be made available for the athletes in the house. This is where they could reach out for their gears and a bench would also be neat. This will encourage them to sit down to take off muddy gears.

Place a large sponge to absorb rain water at the bottom of umbrella stands.

Lost Or Stolen Cards

It is always wise to have a photocopy of credit cards and carry a copy wherever you are. So in case of loss, you will have a copy of the series of number to report and lessen the risk of having someone forge and use your account. Make sure to call your card issuer immediately. After having reported the loss, you are no longer liable for charges that are made into your account.
