Kitchen Tips: Short term food storage tips

If you happen to be the one who stays home and do the house chores, errands and prepare the everyday meals, then you have to be wise juggling between your personal time, the family’s budget, tasks to finish and so on. One thing is to maximize your time by doing a one stop grocery shopping for the whole week. The list goes on from canned goods to breads, noodles and other stacks that will suffice your needs till the end of the week.

The first thing to consider before piling up foods is the expiration or the shelf life of your stack. The following tips are just for short term storage only since you will replace most of them every week. You might want to prepare organized food storage for all of your items. Of course, meats, fishes, chickens, fruits, and veggies go inside the refrigerator. Put all the biscuits, breads and noodles in a safe and sealed Tupperware. In order to keep the groceries from pests like roaches, rats, ants and bugs, apply pest chalk outside the food container. A cupboard or the top of the fridge is the best place to stock up canned goods for emergency purposes so you or your family knows where to get it if they decided to cook for themselves. The last thing you can do is to have an inventory of all the goodies you purchase. This way you will have a track or record of the things you need for the next weeks and at the same time have a list of the products that will just be hoarded for days.
