Packing Luggage for the Family

When you go out on a vacation, do you just throw your stuff in the luggage or do you keep a checklist? Whether you are going on one of those neat Branson vacations or having just a quick getaway from the city, here are some things that might help if you would rather have your “to go stuff” organized.

First to consider is the number of people you are going to have to pack away for. If you can have them in the team of packers, then that would even be neater. More often than not, this task is left to the mother. Being the queen of your home, more or less, you already know the basic needs of every member of the family. Start with the basics, keeping in mind the number of days you are on vacation.

You would also have to consider packing light, especially if you are going with a handful of children with you. If you think you have put all the basic stuff in the luggage, get each member of the family into the packing job, letting them know what you have already done for them and reminding them too that if they are going to add anything in, to make sure to keep it “light.”

Choose a Durable Luggage

The first ever luggage the hubby and I bought together, a month before our wedding, was a red Delsey luggage.  The budget is a primary consideration, because we were tight back then even as wedding expenses piled up.  We were lucky to have found a good buy.  It was like a sleek combo with a back pack that zips in with the main luggage.  We were thrilled.

Going seven years and it still is doing great.  In fact, I use it now to store the little guy's baby stuff, just in case a cousin or a baby brother or sister comes in the coming years.  This photo was taken minutes before we drove to the airport for our flight to our Boracay honeymoon. :D
